THE PROOF Roe v. Wade
was a landmark controversial decision by the United States Supreme
Court, decided on January 22, 1973, disallowing many state and federal
restrictions on abortion in the United States. The world's
largest Jesus music festival, Explo-72, was held in 1972, in Dallas.
More Christians assembled at one time, than ever before in history.
The end of the
Jesus People Movement was also 1973. The advent of
modern satellite communication was ushered in by a Global communications
organisation called Intelsat. Intelsat or International Telecommunications
Satellite Organization, with 11 member countries including the United
States, Japan, Canada, Australia and various European nations. Intelsat
became a permanent after of the Intelsat Agreement which went into
force in 1973 . This set the stage for the beginning of inexpensive
global television networks. This allowed Christian broadcasters
to enter this once cost prohibitive media. In 1973, Sydney
Segal was one of the founders of The Canadian Foundation for the
Study of Infant Deaths and helped with first Canadian SIDS conference
held in 1974. He helped open the first intensive-care unit for newborns
at Vancouver General Hospital. |
